+ What type of lid did you use?
Part of the clay tree, you cant really see it in the image but it caps it off like the bottom of a log when you cut it off, it's supposed to look kind of sprayed at the top because it was struck by lightning, although it still closes and becomes a lidded vessel.
+ Is it functional? Why or why not?
Of course! it works as kind of a pencil holder but you could fit any liquid/item in here and it would hold it perfectly fine, it's completely enclosed except for the top which has a lid to close it.
+ What technique did you use to make your piece?
Clay slab rolling and cutting/molding. Really hard to get the freaking clay to stay together after making so many tree markings on the whole thing, i had to make a couple of attempts before i got something slightly presentable. Ironically, its the only project of mine that hasn't been cracked, heh.
